A little preparation goes a long way. This guide covers what information and documents may be helpful before you meet with Lafe.

Start With These Five Items
Bring these with you if available:
- Current photo identification
- Proof of Social Security number
- Income information from the previous 60 days
- Bank statements from the previous 60 days
- Pre-filing credit-counseling certificate, if already completed

Debts & Creditors
Gather information about the people and companies you owe, including:
- Creditor names and addresses
- Credit-card and other unsecured debt
- Mortgage debt
- Vehicle loans
- Tax debt
- Student loans
- Other outstanding debts or obligations

Income & Employment
Have information available about:
- Current employment
- Recent income
- Other income information that may be relevant to the household

Bank & Tax Records
Gather, if available:
- Recent bank statements
- Recent tax returns
- Other financial records that may help explain your current situation

Monthly Household Expenses
Bring a list of your monthly expenses.
This may include the information you use to understand what comes in each month and what must be paid out for ordinary living expenses.

Property & Assets
Gather information about property you own, including:
- Real estate
- Vehicles
- Household goods
- Jewelry
- Other property or significant assets

Garnishment & Immediate Problems
If you are currently dealing with a garnishment or another immediate collection issue, bring any information you have about it.

If you have already completed pre-filing credit counseling, bring your certificate.

Depending on your circumstances, Lafe may need additional records or information.

- Additional documents may be required
